How Verification Works
Seraphic Gem Co. is a broker, not an open listings board. Every stone — whether it arrived at our headquarters or was submitted by an approved seller — is reviewed before it’s published, and inspected again before it reaches you.

A stone reaches us
A seller brings it to our Colombo headquarters in person, or an approved seller submits it directly — their own photos, specs, and asking price.

Our team reviews it
Every submission is checked against its claims before it goes anywhere near a listing. Anything that doesn't add up is sent back, or the seller is called in for a closer look.
- 03
Independent laboratory certification
Where needed, the stone is sent to a GIA, GRS, or AGL-affiliated laboratory for grading and origin determination. The certificate number is published on the listing and can be verified with the lab directly.

Pricing & publication
Once review and certification clear, the stone is priced and published. Nothing reaches the marketplace unreviewed.

Final inspection & insured delivery
On purchase, the stone is examined by our team once more before it leaves Colombo. Stones above 3 carats ship by bonded courier, signature required; smaller stones ship fully insured and tracked.

Every stone is reviewed before it’s listed and inspected by our team one final time before it ships — so a mismatch should never happen. If it does, here’s exactly what we do about it:
Contact us within 7 days of delivery if a stone doesn’t match the specifications on its listing, and return it in the same condition it shipped in. We’ll arrange the return and refund the full purchase price — no cost to you.
The laboratories
We work with laboratories affiliated with the Gemological Institute of America (GIA), GRS Gemresearch Swisslab, and American Gemological Laboratories (AGL). Each stone’s certificate number is printed on its listing and can be verified directly with the issuing lab.
