How Verification Works
Seraphic Gem Co. is a broker, not a listings board. We take physical custody of every stone, verify it independently, and stand behind what we publish. Buyers pay for that certainty as much as for the stone itself.

Physical intake at Colombo HQ
A seller brings the stone to our headquarters in person. We log it, record its provenance, and issue an internal stone ID. Nothing is listed from a photo alone.

In-house examination & imaging
Our staff examine the stone under controlled lighting, measure and weigh it, and produce a full photo set plus a video walkthrough — the same views you'll see on the listing.

Independent laboratory certification
The stone is sent to a GIA, GRS, or AGL-affiliated laboratory for grading and origin determination. The certificate is attached to the listing in full.

Pricing & publication
Only once the certificate is back and the stone is in hand do we set a price and publish. Every stone you see on the marketplace has cleared all four steps.

Insured courier delivery
On purchase, stones above 3 carats are hand-delivered by bonded courier, signature required. Smaller stones ship fully insured and tracked, door to door.
The laboratories
We work with laboratories affiliated with the Gemological Institute of America (GIA), GRS Gemresearch Swisslab, and American Gemological Laboratories (AGL). Each stone’s certificate number is printed on its listing and can be verified directly with the issuing lab.
